What to Wear?

We all know those scenerios when you just don't know what to wear to an event. Is it formal? Is it casual? Is it a mix? Here are some tips to help you decode what to wear.
  • Venue. A ballroom or formal resterraunt calls for a classy, formal dress. Hip clubs or cocktail parties signal knee length, fun party dresses. Light, wispy fabrics are appropirate at garden parties or more casual events.
  • Time. Weekend brunch or afternoon tea require little, casual dresses, but no black durring the day. Pool parties or BBQ's are obviously casual, but make sure to carry a cover up with you if you wear a swimsuit! Late nights are more formal
  • Hosts. If the person hosting the event tends to dress casually, then chances are they will be at there event. Don't go completley casual though! You can always call the host if they're your friend and find out what they're wearing.
Still confused? When in doubt, dress up a little. What's the worst case? You look a little more fabulous than everyone else? If someone complains, tell them you have another event to go to afterwards. Hope you guys enjoyed!

8 Tips for Going Vintage

Hey everyone! So I'm sure we all know that going vintage has been a trend for a while now. It can be hard sometimes shopping vintage though. Here are 8 tips that help:

  1. Modern. Does this vintage piece look modern? I know that's a lot of irony, but if the piece doesn't have a touch of modernism, it will look too costume-y.
  2. Quality. While many things can be fixed by a cobber or tailor, there are somethings that just can't. Beware of holes, missing beads/jewels, stains (if they've been on the piece that long, they're most likley not coming off now), and shattered hems.
  3. Desire. Make sure that you will actually wear this daily! It can be tempting to get something, but make sure you love it, and will actually wear it.
  4. Label. Just because a piece of clothing has a certain brand, it doesn't mean it's always better. Little known designers can work just as well.
  5. Company. Make sure you go with someone that you trust will tell you what looks good and what's too costume like.
  6. Trends. Forget them. Most vintage stores carry the things they do because they're timeless, therefore trends do not apply here.
  7. Statement. Vintage jewlery is all about statement making!
  8. Fake. Vintage doesn't mean it has to be real diamonds, pearls ect.
Hope you guys enjoyed, and I hope this helps! What are your favorite vintage shops?

Jewelry Box Basics

Hey everyone! We all know that jewelry is an essential to all outfits, making any basic outfit fabulous, but with so many pieces out there, it's hard to find what are essentials and what to have at all. So I'm here to help with that! Here are the pieces I think everyone should have (with your own little twist of course!)

  • Diamond stud earrings (real or fake)
  • Pearl stud earrings (real or fake)
  • Hoops
  • Statement Cocktail Ring
  • Statement earrings
  • Strand of pearls
  • A watch
  • Your favorite simple necklace
  • Bangle/cuff bracelet
  • Dressy necklace
  • Dressy earrings
Hope you guys enjoyed! Keep in mind that you should put your take on each of these, and you don't have to have them all! Personally, I don't really like hoops and I don't like wearing a watch, but they are classic and timeless.

Purple Smokey Eye!

Hey everyone! Feels like I haven't posted in forever :( but I'm here with a twist on the smokey eye! So basically, I had a dance recital today and my dress was silver and purple so I matched my makeup to my dress. Let's get started:

First, put a sparkley silver on the inner third of your lid. Then, put a purple-pink on the middle of your lid and a purple in the crease and outer third of your lid. Blend with a blending brush. As you can see, I did a winged eyeliner, which I will do a tutorial on later, and apply mascara. There you go! All done. Hope you enjoyed!

April Favs!

Hey everyone! Time for my April Favorites!! I have been really loving the school girl look! Collard button ups, cardigans, it's just so pretty! Of course I fall in love with this look in spring time when I can't wear it because of the weather! Haha oh well! I've also been loving the look that goes with this style: winged eyeliner and red lips! Very vintage. Pencil eyeliner (brown and black!) have been my staples this month along with white eyeliner on my water line. My mascara combo this month is Lyrca Lash Extender (Rimmel) and Voluminous Million Lashes (L'Oreal). I've been reading a ton of fashion books (Style by Lauren Conrad, A to Z by Racheal Zoe, True Whit by Whitney Port ect) this month! Boyce Avenue and We Are the In Crowd are the bands I have been LOVING this month! I'm so addicted to photobooths too! I love DIY projects too: do you guys have any you love? Hope you guys enjoyed! What have you been loving??
