DIY: Distressed Jeans

Hey everyone! So today I'm going to show you guys how to distress your own jeans and make your own holes. Baisically, you're going to put one leg on an ironing board. Then, you're going to take some scissors and run them all along the spot where you want the hole to be. Go up, down and side to side, really fast. There will be a lot of fuzz coming off because of the jeans, but thats okay! You can tug on the jeans and the hole to stretch it out and speed up the process. You may have to spend a little doing this, but it turns out looking great!!                            Here's the final result:

DIY: Cutoffs

Hey everyone! So today I thought I would show you guys how to make your winter jeans into spirng cutoffs!

First, you're going to cut your jeans whatever length you want them. I suggest cutting them right above the knee, it's what I did. You can use a ruler to draw a straight line on both pant legs to make sure they're even, but you don't have to if you don't feel the need.

When you've cut the legs, take the ends of the newly cut pants and run scissors across them. This will create a fringe look. Once you've done that, pull on the loose pieces at the bottom. This will get longer and more fringe, while also getting the ones that the scissors misssed.

And it's that easy!! You're all done, now you just wear them out!! I'm wearing a floral tank that I got from PacSun. Hope you enjoyed!!

DIY: Off the Shoulder Shirt

Hey everyone! So a couple days ago my sister was going to a concert, but wanted her shirt to be more edgy. She wanted me to make it an off the shoulder shirt. I wasn't clear on how to do this, so I experemented on a couple old shirts she didn't want. I'm here to make this a lot eaiser for you!

So all you'll need is an oversized shirt (it doesn't have to be very big, but it can't be tight) For mine, I used a tee that I got at a concert. It was the smallest size they had left, but it was too big for me. So all you do is lay your shirt down on a hard surface, and hold the top and bottom tight. You're going to cut along the collar, tugging on the shirt as you go so the scissors don't cut uneven. After that's all cut, put the scissors about one or two inches below what you already cut and repeat the same proccess. You do want to curve what you're cutting though.

And voilla!! Do you like? By the way, my shirt says I ♥ Disco Curtis (which is a band! Go check him out!! http://www.youtube.com/user/DiscoCurtis )

Stretch Shoes!

Do you have shoes that are too small for you or need to be broken in? Well this simple trick can help you out! I would suggest not doing this on shoes that are over a size too small, it most likely won't work. It will stretch it, but not enough for you to fit. You may have to repeat this process on certain types of materials on shoes. Alright so lets get to it!

So first, you fill 2 sandwich bags 1/4 full of water. Make sure you seal it tight! Then, you're going to stuff them into your shoes. But your shoes into the freezer and wait for the water to turn to ice. I had to wait about an hour to an hour and a half. Then take them out and let the ice thaw. Your shoes should now be bigger! Hope you enjoyed and hope this helped!!

Review: Goody Spin Pin

So today I'm going to let you guys know what I think about the Goody Spin Pin! I think it is a genius idea! I only used it in a bun, because it's the only updo I really do that would require this type of bobby pin. I didn't use any rubber bands or any other bobby pins, just this one spin pin. They suggest to use two of these, but I only used one.

Experience:
So I used this and put it in a bun for a whole day, and I didn't have to readjust it once! I was so happy at this! I always have to adjust my updos! I then took a shower and re-did it and went to sleep. It stayed put all night!! I was really happy because nothing ever stays through a whole night! However, when I used it again at night, it fell out. I don't think this problem would happen at all if I used two instead of one.
Price wise, I think they should be a little cheaper, but they are definitly worth it! Hope you enjoyed!!

Cute Twist on the Braid!

Hey everyone! So today I thought I'd show you one of my favorite ways to keep my hair out of my face: a braid! Now I'm sure you all know how to braid (if not, it's super easy!) so I put a little twist on it this time! All I used was a ribbon and a small elastic. I used the white ribbon from my Tiffany's box (for good luck! I was taking a test so) but you can use any ribbon you want.

So all you're going to do is braid your hair like normal and secure it with an elastic. Tie a long ribbon around it and create a bow! Make sure the bow and the remaining ribbon are long!
I would suggest curling your bangs if they're long like mine, and I originally did, but the curl fell out when I took this pic :(

Fashion Tag!

This tag originated on youtube, but I figured I would do it on here since it is so fun!!

1. What's your favorite accessory?
I think it would be the bracelet my friend got me from an American Indian store. It's homemade and has my name on it! I wear it all the time.

2. Whos your role model? (in real life and youtube life)
In real life I admire Angelina Jolie for all the work in the community she does, but I also admire Kim Kardashian because she does everything! In youtube/blog life, I would say ARose186 because she is so open about her faith and is herself all the time.

3. What do you always carry with you?
My phone! It has all my calender events on it, things to do and all the errands I have to complete. It literally has my very busy life on there.

4. What would you describe your fashion style as?
Sometimes boho and sometimes classy

5. Favorite: jeans, sunglasses, heels?
My dark wash skinnies from Forever21 that I always wear, my Forever21 aviators, and my Steve Madden heeled boots that I wear all the time in winter!

6. What inspired you to make fashion blogs?
I started out with a youtube channel, but I just couldn't find the time to film, but I always have time to type so I converted to blogging. I was inspired by the beauty/fashion gurus I subscribed to, and I knew I had some good tips, tricks and outfits.

7. What is your favorite fashion store/shop?
Forever21 obviously! I always talk about that place. I like it because it has a men's section (I like wearing guy tees sometimes and it makes it easy to shop for the guys in my life) shoes, accessories and different styles of clothing.

8. What is your favorite fabric in clothing?
I don't really have a favorite, but I hate silk and corduroy

9. Who is your favorite designer?
I don't really have one. I shop everywhere so.

10. Who/what inspires your fashion?
The people I see on the streets, magazines, gurus, mannequins, everything!

11. What would you choose to do - buy something in high quality or make it your self if you can?
I can't make clothes but that would be really cool to learn! I like doing DIY accessories though.

I tag all of you!!

P.S. Look! One (yes just one) of my ears closed
up and I got an earring through!! YES!!

Nail of the Week

So this week I'm wearing a hot pink Sally Hansen nail polish with the China Glaze Crackle Glaze over it. The color is the black one which is called Black Mesh. I was originally planning on getting the OPI Shatter polish, but I was at Sally's and they don't sell OPI and I saw the China Glaze one. I figured I would get this one instead. It works pretty good. I've used it twice, and it looks good on one hand and not so good on the other hand. That could be because I'm left handed so painting my left hand is a little hard, or it could be the formula. Either way I like it. Do you guys have OPI Shatter? Do you have the China Glaze one? What do you think?

Shower Routine

  1. The first thing I do when I get in the shower is shave. I do this first so that when I wash my legs, my pores will be open from my freshly shaven legs. I usually shave my legs every other day or every three days if I'm lucky. I use Gilette Silk shaving cream and generic razors. I use generic razors because I like them to be clean. I change my razors every 2 weeks to a month or whenever they get dirty. If I use the expensive razors then I would just thorw them away and have to spend more money on a new one. The generic ones work just fine, and you can get a 20-pack for around $5. I use this shaving cream because it applies thin so my razor picks up mostly hair and very little shaving cream.
  2. Then, I was my body. I use a loofa and body wash becaue regular soap dries my skin out so bad.
  3. I shampoo my hair afterwards. I don't shampoo every day because it's not healthy for your hair, but I do take showers every day. I change my shampoo and conditioner when it's all gone because my hair gets used to the formula and it doesn't do what it claims anymore.
  4. After that, I wash my face. Again, my skin gets used to the formula so I never use the same facewash twice in a row. Currently, I'm using Clean and Clear Exfoliating scrub.
  5. Next, I condition my hair. I use the same conditioner as my shampoo.
After I get out of the shower I put lotion on and spray leave in conditioner. I then brush my hair with a boar bristle brush so that I don't damage my hair. Hope you enjoyed! What's your shower routine?

Keep Feet Pretty & Get Rid of Calluses

As a dancer, my feet get really beat up. I get calluses very often, and eventhough they are seen as a "badge of honor" so to say in dance, they are ugly and gross to have in summer when you're showing off your feet. So, there are a couple things you can do to take care of your feet and get rid of callusses.

Here's what NOT to do first:
  1. Don't cut and/or tear them! This will expose new skin underneath which would cause pain, bleeding and infection.
  2. Don't file completely away. It is acceptable to file them, but if you file too close to the skin, you will again expose new skin.
Here's how to get rid of calluses:
  1. File it. You can use a PedEgg or pummice stone to do this, but don't file it all the way!
  2. Keep feet moisturized. You can use lotion, foot creme or vaseline. If the callus is to dry, it will crack and rip.
  3. Soak your feet in Epsom salt. I usually put a cup full into a foot bath, but you can also use a small tub or a sink. Make sure to use warm water!
  4. Wear socks to bed. I like to wear the fuzzy socks that have aloe vera in them. I don't wear them all the time, maybe once or twice a week.
  5. Keep feet clean! I don't know if you guys do this, but I make sure to wash my feet everyday when I'm in the shower. I usually just rub a loofa on them, but if I have bad calluses, I will scrub them with a pummice stone or a foot scrub with body wash.
Hope this helped you guys! What do you do to make your feet pretty?
