Here's what NOT to do first:
- Don't cut and/or tear them! This will expose new skin underneath which would cause pain, bleeding and infection.
- Don't file completely away. It is acceptable to file them, but if you file too close to the skin, you will again expose new skin.
- File it. You can use a PedEgg or pummice stone to do this, but don't file it all the way!
- Keep feet moisturized. You can use lotion, foot creme or vaseline. If the callus is to dry, it will crack and rip.
- Soak your feet in Epsom salt. I usually put a cup full into a foot bath, but you can also use a small tub or a sink. Make sure to use warm water!
- Wear socks to bed. I like to wear the fuzzy socks that have aloe vera in them. I don't wear them all the time, maybe once or twice a week.
- Keep feet clean! I don't know if you guys do this, but I make sure to wash my feet everyday when I'm in the shower. I usually just rub a loofa on them, but if I have bad calluses, I will scrub them with a pummice stone or a foot scrub with body wash.
